Art
Days of Distancing. Day 69.
Numerous murals are now in place around Lancaster. We often don't think of art as essential during times of crisis, but it can be. During the Great Depression the government employed artists of various types to conduct cultural work. The Federal Art, Federal Music, Federal Theater, and Federal Writers Project were all parts of the recovery effort. Which is to say nothing of the FSA photographers, and the work they produced. Walker Evans, Dorothea Lange, Gordon Parks to name a few. One of the most well known American photographs: Migrant Mother, was made by Lange when she was employed by the federal government.

Also Dorothea Lange > Walker Evans (or any of the other FSA photographers) IMHO. Really not even close.
