Respect and Concern

Days of Distancing. Day 66.

Gerry and Dee (not pictured) own Drake's Pet Place. We have been getting our pet food here pretty much since we moved to Lancaster. Gerry knows more about healthy pet food than just about anyone I have ever met. They have stayed open during the crisis, making sure we can feed our pets. He even started doing deliveries to people who were at risk and concerned about going out. I saw him sanitizing the counter and door after every customer.

Truth is the risk to me in visiting his store is really low. Most of the risk here is his and Dee's. Respect to these small businesses, but also concern for their safety as more and more people are out and about and being increasingly lax with their own precautions.

He told me he just tries to keep in mind a quote he saw that said, "Be nice to the person next to you, you never know what they are going through."
